This idea came from my time in Berlin in 2017, when I fell in love with all the street art and graffiti throughout the city. I decided to take a few days while there to document all the graffiti I could find.
Each of the photos I took is interesting in its own way. I loved the way the textures of the old buildings and layers of stickers, and “tags” added to the painted wall surfaces. I found it fascinating how the colors and forms of the graffiti broke up the composition, making each photo a bit like a mini lesson in contemporary graphic design.
A couple years went by before I could think of what to do with the 400+ images I had taken.
Last year I created some wrapping paper for my friends from the thumbnails and got really great feedback about the paper. It was sometimes sad to see how the wrapping paper became way more interesting than the gift.
I have decided to get this wrapping paper professionally printed at 36″ x 24″ (350dpi) and make it available so that others can enjoy this beautiful little gift from the city of Berlin.

I have also created a “Blurb” book that features most of the images used in the wrapping paper. It is available at: https://www.blurb.com/b/10142361-the-graffiti-of-berlin
