With his friend and gallerist Sherrie Hawk acting as a liaison, Christian Faur spent a day in December, 2018 with Jackie Shafer and her staff from the Columbus PBS Station, WOSU TV. The WOSU program, Broad and High, is a weekly magazine which explores the arts and culture scene of Central Ohio. In the resulting episode, WOSU tours his home and studio while Chris describes his background in physics and math as well as in art, recalls how the idea of photorealistic crayon works originated, and demonstrates how he produces his crayons from beeswax and pigments.
Included also in the segment are samples of his work using various media such as human hair, melted crayons, and shredded paper.
The piece aired on January 31, 2019 and was subsequently picked up nationally by PBS NewsHour with Judy Woodruff, appearing on March 15, 2019.
