Taking a cue from the modern Pop artists, and utilizing traditional “weaving” techniques, I am in the process of creating a body of 100 works using the image of my daughter “Melodie” as the basis for the series.
By holding a single element constant, I am able to show differences in how discreet colors and patterns can effect the properties of the image when viewed from a distance.
This experimental series is intended to push the boundaries of the crayon technique that I have developed, allowing me the freedom to experiment with the infinite possibilities the crayon form holds.
